Jakarta Provincial Government won the Best Value for Archives Supervision Results in 2023 from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia in the AA (Very Satisfactory) category.

This award was given at the peak event commemorating the 53rd Archives Day in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Thursday (5/30).

Acting Communication, Informatic and Statistic Agency Head, Sigit Wijatmoko, said this award has sparked enthusiasm for the ranks of the Jakarta Provincial Government to continue to improve the management of regional archives.

In accordance with the theme raised in commemoration of the 53rd Archives Day 'Sustainable Archiving for the Best Future'. Jakarta Provincial Government will strive to carry out sustainable archives, so that regional archives can be preserved, accessed and utilized by the public.

"Alhamdulillah, with the guidance of the Acting Governor of Jakarta and the Regional Secretary of Jakarta, as well as the collective work of each Regional Apparatus in carrying out archives, the Provincial Government of Jakarta is able to achieve appreciation for the results of archival supervision with Category AA (Very Satisfactory) from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. Thank you for the support in managing archives in Jakarta. We will continue to improve this performance," Sigit said, as quoted from the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Friday (5/31).

Commemoration of the 53rd Archives Day 2024 is not only a momentum to appreciate performance achievements in archive management, but is also an opportunity to reflect on commitment to the principles of sustainability in archive management.

By integrating the concept of sustainable archiving into archival practices, it can strengthen the contribution of archives in helping digitalize government and safeguard cultural heritage, as well as collective memory, which will have an impact on the best future.
